Desc: Lost & Found in Italy: Directed by Giovanna G. Bonomo. With Giovanna G. Bonomo, Ronn Moss, Joe Piscopo, Frank Grillo. Lost and Found in Italy is a portrait of both hardship and hope. Less about Italy and more about understanding the philosophies of those who leave everything to call Italy home. The film explores the difficult, absurd tension between what we lose from coming to this often times chaotic country, and what we find. The film begins at the burned-out Canadian mother's arrival in apocalyptic Italy in March 2020 after leaving perfect Canada for a new life, for her and her young family, in a country that's everything but perfect. The film, in two parts, explores both the ambivalent relationship between living to work and working to live and how Italy, in all of its chaos, helps some people map out their own identity. Liberated by their life lessons and reflections from the burdens of common and individual experiences in this difficult country, the chaos and order - separate yet co-existing - the director attempts to find meaning to this illogical magnetic pull to Italy asking, Why is vacationing in Italy (like the 65 million tourists who visit annually) not enough?
